Happy dance...

I am so tempted to get all New Age Woo Woo and say something about how the Universe hears you when you get on track, but you know what? It's bull. You've been working hard, Linda, and the truth is it takes time. And work. But when you commit to mastering a technique, constantly improve your design skills (something everyone has to do), talk to people and get the word out, it pays off.

This is great news. Congratulations!

Stacey, I'm SO grateful for this blog and your crash course in marketing. Here's the update: I've hired a graphic designer to work up a logo, business card and banner for my website. She isn't starting work for a couple weeks but has already looked at my work and sent a detailed questionnaire and I like the exchanges we've had AND her work. It does NOT have to cost a fortune. She makes a specialty of doing small business packages and was very reasonable.

I'm buying a web design app. that I've used before and like so that I can build my own site and get off Etsy. I'm tired of turning potential customers loose in a giant mall of competitors.

I have an elevator pitch.

I have stopped apologizing for my prices.

And I just a call from a jewelry store owner who is setting up a new gallery shop.

Thank you. Thank you.

Best,

Linda

I agree, Eugen. Free accounts are great, but the small amount required for a domain is a good investment.

Stacey, this is another great post. Thanks for that.

I agree with you. It's very important when building your brand online to have your own domain name.

The hosting package used it's also important and the tools used for promotion. It shows the intentions someone has with a website.

Thanks, CaZ. It's hard for people who run bricks and mortar businesses to keep up, but I think people don't realize fresh content doesn't mean writing a novel. Up to date is good.
